About BeMoto.

Since 2015, BeMoto have been doing insurance differently. We’re a specialist motorbike insurance provider that puts riders at the heart of everything we do. From our tailored products and expert team to our strong biking community, we are a company that gets it. Unlike the typical red-tape-heavy insurers, BeMoto exists to make motorbike insurance simple, fair, and built around real riders.

Whether you ride a custom cruiser, a track-ready superbike, or something totally unique, we’ve got you covered. Our motorbike insurance is designed to match how you actually use your bike, giving you confidence that you’re properly protected.

BeMoto’s mission is simple: make it easy for bikers to enjoy their passion. That means less time on hold, no pointless hassle or jargon, and more time doing what you love; riding.

Our history.

Humble beginnings.

BeMoto was founded by three ambitious entrepreneurs with a shared vision: to shake up the insurance industry and create something truly rider-focused.

What started in a garden annex in Peterborough quickly took shape, backed by years of experience in general insurance and a passion for biking.

In 2015, we achieved FCA accreditation, secured our first distribution partnership with AXA, and launched the bold new brand that riders across the UK now know as BeMoto.

Getting out there.

We sold our first policy to a local rider, Tracey, and we’ll never forget her. A special thank you goes to Tracey for her patience and for starting our legacy.

The MCN Festival of Motorcycling took place right on our doorstep. Our first time participating at the show gave us an opportunity to meet and speak to our community about a rising new brand.

We welcomed our first employee, a customer service apprentice, who is still manning our phone lines and helping our customers to this day.

Establishing ourselves.

This year marked a major step forward as we relocated to our first dedicated office in the local area, establishing a stronger foundation for our growing team.

We expanded our product range with the launch of Laid-up Motorbike Insurance, providing essential fire, theft, and malicious damage cover for SORN bikes. We also introduced our Trike Insurance product to support a broader community of three-wheel riders.

Our infamous partnership with 44Teeth boosted our brand visibility among motorcycle enthusiasts. We remain close friends and they continue to be our dedicated advocates.

Increasing our reach.

We started the year by proudly sponsoring Gino Rea, British Superbike and Endurance World Championship legend, cementing our commitment to the bike racing community.

We strengthened our protection offering through a key partnership with Properly Protected Ltd, adding Personal Injury Insurance and Short-term Income Protection to our services.

We also launched our specialist Trackday Damage Insurance, giving motorsport enthusiasts the cover they need to enjoy the thrill safely.

Strengthening the portfolio.

We expanded our reach by going live on major motorbike insurance comparison sites, making it easier than ever for riders to find tailored cover.

We launched three key products: Motorbike Travel insurance, Motorbike Repatriation Insurance and Motorbike GAP Insurance, to give our customers even greater protection on and off the road.

Sorrymate joined forces with BeMoto to offer expert legal services for motorcyclists, reinforcing our commitment to rider support.

Navigating a pandemic.

Nobody needs reminding of the events that took place in 2020. COVID-19 was in full force and presented significant challenges for us, as it did many others. We were only just getting started and were totally unprepared for the unprecedented nationwide lockdown.

Fortunately, BeMoto were quick to respond, facilitating an emergency remote working initiative for it’s some 30 employees at the time. Our phone lines stayed open and our customers stayed happy.

Moto Broking House.

Despite challenges, we continued to grow, and desperately needed more space. This lead to the acquisition of our current premises in the city centre; more room to grow, better transport links and an office we could really put our stamp on.

Extra space and greater demand allowed us to introduce our Kickstarter Scheme, offering apprenticeships to Peterborough residents struggling for work, generating employment and contributing to the local economy.

2021 also saw us introduce our own BeMoto online quote journey on our website.

Giving back.

This was our first year as an official sponsor of a national event, the 2022 Scottish Motorcycle Show. It was a huge hit and we felt extremely proud to give back to the biker community who have always supported us.

We celebrated in style by hosting one of our biggest giveaways ever, the chance to win a brand new Ducati Panigale V4S. Special congratulations to Stephen Hendry for being our lucky winner!

More affiliations.

For the second year in a row, we secured our sponsorship with Davey Todd, the TT and BSB racing icon. 2023 also saw BikeWorldTV come on board as another close affiliation, advocating for our products and services to their audience.

We also announced our official partnership with R&G, a huge player in the motorbike scene, boosting our credibility and helping us to give our customers even more benefits and exclusive offers.

We know the difference.

At BeMoto, we know the difference, because we live and breathe bikes. As specialist motorbike insurance providers, we actually share your passion for motorbikes and speak your language.

That passion sparked our popular “Know the Difference” social media series, where we celebrate the biking lifestyle with iconic memes and side-by-side comparisons. Take a ride down “meme-ory lane” in our gallery and see how many you recognise.
