The new Triumph Tiger 900 Alpine & Desert editions

Triumph has expanded its adventure lineup once again with the introduction of the Tiger 900 Alpine Edition and Tiger 900 Desert Edition. These two special-edition machines are designed for riders who want a bike that looks the part and arrives ready for terrain-specific adventure. Even better, both models are set to hit dealerships in January 2026.

A brief history of the Triumph Tiger 900

The Tiger 900 has become a mainstay in the middleweight adventure category. Its T-Plane triple engine character, balanced chassis, and well-equipped GT Pro and Rally Pro trims have made it a favourite for riders who want versatility without the bulk of a big-capacity adventure bike. Triumph has now taken that successful formula and added two new flavours that celebrate two extremes of riding: the high-altitude Alpine Edition and the off-road-driven Desert Edition.

What we know so far

The Tiger 900 Alpine Edition is based on the GT Pro model, making it an ideal option for riders who spend most of their time on-road, with the occasional gravel detour. It features the familiar 888 cc T-Plane triple, a seven-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity, Triumph Shift Assist, and five riding modes. Engine protection bars come fitted as standard.

The Tiger 900 Desert Edition takes the Rally Pro as its base and is built for riders who push into rougher, sandier, and more unpredictable terrain. It includes six riding modes, including the more focused Off-Road Pro mode, and arrives with tank protection bars as standard. Both models offer the same strong electronics package, including cornering ABS and traction control.

Triumph will also offer more than fifty genuine accessories for the 900 platform, including luggage, touring equipment, and off-road protection.

What’s new compared to older models

We’ve broken down the key highlights for the new Tiger 900 Alpine & Desert Editions:

Engine & Performance

Both the Tiger 900 Alpine and Desert Editions are powered by Triumph’s familiar 888 cc T-Plane triple engine, which is now paired with a factory-fitted Akrapovič silencer for the first time. This setup delivers smooth, tractable torque designed to suit each model’s intended use: refined road touring for the Alpine and confident performance on technical, uneven terrain for the Desert.

Each model also features distinct riding modes tailored to its character. The Alpine Edition includes five modes that balance road versatility with mild off-road capability, while the Desert Edition offers six modes, including the focused Off-Road Pro setting for riders tackling demanding dirt environments.

Electronics & Rider Aids

Both versions of the Tiger 900 are equipped with a seven-inch full-colour TFT display with standard MyTriumph connectivity for navigation, media, and ride information. Cornering ABS and traction control are included on each model, providing enhanced safety across varying conditions.

Triumph Shift Assist, which enables clutchless upshifts and downshifts, is also fitted as standard. The Desert Edition features a more aggressive off-road-orientated electronics package that provides an advantage when riding on loose or unpredictable surfaces.

Chassis & Equipment

The Alpine Edition is fitted with engine protection bars that add durability and reassurance for touring scenarios that include occasional off-road stretches. In contrast, the Desert Edition comes with tank protection bars as standard, offering increased toughness for sandy, rocky, or otherwise harsh environments.

Both bikes feature terrain-inspired liveries and graphics that reflect their intended riding style. Riders can further customise either model with more than 50 genuine Triumph accessories, including aluminium panniers, additional off-road protection, and various practical enhancements.

Launch, pricing and availability

Both the Tiger 900 Alpine and Desert Editions will be released in January 2026 with a global rollout.

The Tiger 900 Alpine Edition starts at £14,395 in the UK, with Desert pricing expected to follow a similar structure. Each model comes with a two-year unlimited-mileage warranty and 6,000-mile service intervals.
