Top Selling Motorcycle of the Month: October 2022
By Luke Brackenbury
The MCIA has released the October 2023 month and year to date new vehicle registration figures for motorcycles, scooters, and other L-category vehicles. The top-selling motorbike in the United Kingdom in October 2022 was the mighty Honda PCX 125 with a whopping 480 units (although it sold 537 in September…). Here’s how the top three looks:
- Honda PCX125 - 480 units
- Honda CBF 125 M - 361 units
- Royal Enfield Classic 350 - 93 units
Unsurprisingly, the 51cc-125cc segment is by far the biggest selling category of motorcycles and accounted for 41% of all petrol-engined two-wheeled sales in October. Worth noting that despite all the uncertainty at the moment, this segment is up on sales by just 0.6% compared with October 2021.
New registrations for October are down 6% at 8,003 units, whilst the year-to-date market remains positive showing a year-to-date growth of 2.8%. The October market performed ahead of the original forecast and continues to outperform some other European markets such as Italy and Germany. Electric Powered Two Wheelers continue with a strong performance showing a year-to-date increase of 13.7%.

But good on Royal Enfield representing the manual box massive and smashing it with sales of their 350 range, coming in at third and fifth in the charts with the Classic and Meteor.
